SASPA (The South Australian Secondary Principals Association) is the professional association for Principals, Deputy Principals and Assistant Principals in all state secondary schools in South Australia. - Professional influence on curriculum and pedagogical reform.
- Professional influence on appropriate resourcing for 21st Century secondary schools and students.
All members are included in ‘saspatalk’, the e-mail chatlist, and have access to the Members’ Forum on the website.
Members receive discounted rates at conferences and seminars. Special interest events and spotlight seminars are held throughout the year, in addition to an annual conference.
Members are represented by an elected Executive and Board comprising 19 members, including regional representatives. SASPA has determined four strategic directions, and all members are encouraged to become part of the Strategic Directions Committees: - Leadership development and support
- Curriculum, students and pedagogy
- Resourcing
- Advocacy for secondary education
Application for membership should be made on the attached form. The fortnightly subscription of $12.00 is made through payroll deduction. Associate Membership ($5.00 per fortnight) is offered to members of the Area Schools Principals Association, and may be offered to former secondary leaders who have moved into different roles within DECS.
